International Q x Taza Collections

Taza Collections supports local artists in Calgary, currently, they have partnered with local born and raised artist, KAYAM. Through KAYAM's new "International Q" project, Taza plans to work with KAYAM and other local artists to build a relationship that brings together the culture here in YYC.

Born and raised in Canada, KAYAM (Q) has climbed the steps towards recognition from fans locally, nationally and globally. At the age of 15, KAYAM released his first track, titled "Can't Relate", on Soundcloud, garnering almost 7,000 plays for his debut release. This upbeat, "Skateboard P" inspired remix was followed closely by "Memories", a slow, breakup-inspired R&B record inspired by the likes of Bryson Tiller and The Weeknd which has amassed 18,000 plays to date.

Following his successes on Soundcloud, KAYAM proceeded to perform at venues around Calgary, notably the Rec Room and 628 Stage, further expanding his tightly-knitted fan base. In addition, KAYAM has taken part in an interview with WH Calgary, in which he explained that his music is a melodic mix of several genres and subgenres, drawing on his previous experiences to allow listeners to vicariously live through lyrics and flows. 

KAYAM does not limit himself to any single musical genre, and his presence on Spotify is characterized by catchy choruses, multi-faced lyrics, and creative flows, ranging from smooth crooning to spirited rapping.

12 AM is KAYAM's most popular song, with 70,000 plays on Spotify alone. 

With KAYAM's highly-anticipated and enigmatic "International Q" movement slated for roll-out near the end of the 2019 calendar year, spanning areas far beyond music and typical artistry, the 17-year-old artist showcases immense potential.
